TOURISM
In the role of assistant director for a Kentucky tourism office, I gained experience with Social Media and Event Calendar Planning, Preparing Media Kits and Press Releases, Event Coordination, Travel, Creating Marketing Campaigns and Business and Influencer Partnerships.
Social Media Building & Event Calendar Experience
I worked specifically on building a social media presence for a company that had a minimal online footprint. In the height of Reels and TikToks, I've organically built pages that give viewers a first -person
'POV" perspective of the local attractions, tours, food scene, and picturesque views of a community that is fused together by deep history and arts and culture. Simpson County Tourism utilizes itidigital to continuously add upcoming information to the website. I solely monitored this process and manually entered upcoming events for visitors to access as they begin the travel planning process.
Event Coordinating
Tourism is an industry full of plans, and my role allowed me the opportunity to lead the event planning process.
I created the event "Walk the Line: A Johnny and June Wedding Anniversary Pop Up Event," to celebrate the iconic couple's wedding, which took place in Franklin, KY on March 1, 1968. I reached out to the Cash's photographer, Alan Messer, and he agreed to partner with us to offer a unique presentation of the life of Johnny and June. I also coordinated with local partners to create a fluid celebration at additional locations throughout the community. I have a strong belief that providing interactive activities and photo opportunities brings visitors.
I work closely on the annual Summer Vibes Music Festival helping choose band line ups, reaching out to agents for band booking information, working on social media and giveaways and working the green room of the festival event.
I also have experience creating itineraries for travel industry professionals to share what Franklin has that is a must-see.
